Meredith Roman Pizzi, MT-BC

Executive Director/Board Certified Music Therapist

Meredith Roman Pizzi, MT-BC, is the Founder and Director of Roman Music Therapy Services, a music therapy agency which focuses on serving children and adults with social, emotional, cognitive, behavioral, physical, and educational needs.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA and completed her music therapy internship at Alternatives for Children in Long Island, NY working in an early intervention and therapeutic integrated preschool setting.

Primary areas of Meredith’s clinical work include working with children and young adults from newborn to 22 years of age in private, educational, and community settings. She has extensive experience working with young children with and without disabilities, individuals of all ages with complex medical and developmental needs, non-verbal learners, individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, and other developmental disabilities.

Meredith supervises music therapy students in their training and provides numerous presentations and workshops throughout the year to a wide-ranging audience including parents, educators, librarians and music therapists.

Meredith is also engaged in the local Melrose business community as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and participant in the Melrose Victorian Fair, Halloween Trick or Treating on Main St. and the Melrose Gives Back downtown festival.

Holly A. Rand, MT-BC
Board Certified Music Therapist

Holly A. Rand, MT-BC, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. She completed her music therapy internship in two locations, Kennedy Day School in Brighton, MA, and Community Music Center of Boston in Boston, MA, taking advantage of the opportunity to work with a diverse group of music therapists and clients.

Her experience includes working with various populations, including children with significant medical and educational needs, children with developmental delays, and adults with cognitive impairments. In her training, she also experienced working with children in pediatric hospital settings, adults in residential treatment facilities, and older adults with late stage dementia. Holly enjoys working with all populations, and has a special interest in working with children with special needs and in early childhood. She is also certified as an Early Intervention Provider.

 

Kari O’Briant, MT-BC
Board Certified Music Therapist

Kari O’Briant graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy from Radford University in
Radford, Virginia. She then completed internship training in Newark, New York at the Finger
Lakes Developmental Disabilities Service Office working with adults with developmental
disabilities. In addition to her internship experience, Kari has worked with young children on the autism spectrum, adults with physical impairments and mental health needs, older adults in a nursing and rehabilitation facility, and school-age children in an inclusive setting.

Kari is excited to provide music therapy services to a wide range of clients and settings, and has particular interest in working with children and adults with developmental disabilities.

 

Laura Micheli, MT-BC
Board Certified Music Therapist

Laura Micheli graduated from Salem State College with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and a minor in Psychology in 2009. She received her Master’s degree in Music Therapy and Licensed Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University. Her experience includes working with geriatric populations in a rehabilitation and nursing center, as well as children, adolescents, adults, and elderly with developmental disabilities in various settings including day habilitation facilities, after school programs, and private homes. Some of the highlights of her training included celebrating birthdays with Music Therapy Birthday Parties.

Laura is excited to work with a diverse group of people and is especially interested in working with children with special needs, adults with developmental disabilities, and the elderly.
 

Britney McNeilly
Northeastern Co-op Student

Britney McNeilly is a Northeastern Co-op Student who is working at Roman Music Therapy Services from July to December.  She is majoring in Music and minoring in Psychology, and is working with Meredith Pizzi, MT-BC to learn more about music therapy.  Britney plays piano and sings with the Northeastern Choral Society and hopes to pursue a career in music therapy or a related field.
