Roman Music Therapy Services now offers afterschool music therapy groups for children, teens and young adults in Sudbury, Reading, and Malden, Massachusetts. Not sure which group is best for you, please call us at 781-665-0700 and we will help you find the most appropriate group for your child.
Tuesdays in Partnership with Sudbury Park and Recreation
This fall we were asked to participate in a new adaptive sports and therapeutic recreation program in Sudbury, MA, just 40 minutes west of Boston. This program is open to residents of any community and is easily accessible from many communities in the Metro West area.

EMARC, formerly known as The Arc of East Middlesex, sponsors the following After School Music Therapy Groups for Children, Teens and Young Adults.
New Fall Session will be announced soon. Look for the Music Therapy Groups in Reading to continue and the Music Therapy Groups in Malden to return!

Summer Music Therapy Groups for Children and Adults with Special Needs
Thursday Afternoons in Reading, MA
July 8- August 19
Young Adult Music Therapy Group
Ages 19-30
2:45PM – 3:35PM
Do you like making music? Listening to your favorite bands? Talking with others about music? Come see what music therapy is all about! In this new group, the participants will work together to determine the direction and goals for this group. Sessions may include making music with a variety of instruments, writing new songs, or listening to our favorite music. We can even make our own CD! Come and bring a friend!
Music Therapy for Children
Ages 3-7
3:45PM – 4:35PM
Are you ready to make some music? We will use the fun and motivation of music to address the social, behavioral and sensory goals of participants. Children will be singing, playing a variety of instruments and moving to the music as they engage in supportive and therapeutic music making. Goals may include increasing communication skills, turn taking, joint attention and learning songs that can carry-over into the home. Parent participation is required – This is not a drop off program.
Social Skills for Children
Ages 7-12
4:45PM – 5:35PM
Join us for fun and engaging music activities including group instrument play, singing new and familiar songs, and movement to music. This music therapy group is for children who are verbal to learn and practice social skills through shared musical experiences. Group goals will be developing awareness of self and others and practicing the skills necessary to engage in appropriate interactions with peers. Parent participation is required – This is not a drop off program.
Teen Social Skills Music Therapy Group
Ages 13-18
5:45PM – 6:35PM
Want to jam with your friends and make some new ones? The focus of this program will be group songwriting and recording original songs to form a compilation CD, which each member will receive at the end of the program. This group is designed specifically for teens with advanced verbal skills to learn, develop, and practice social skills though shared musical songwriting experiences.
